Did this actually just happen?
While President Trump has been avoiding addressing the nazis and white nationalists that were present at the Charlottesville protests, he apparently had no problem condemning the "alt-left."
“What about the alt-left that came charging at, as you say, at the alt-right?" Trump said during a press conference. "Do they have any guilt? What about the fact that they came charging with clubs in their hands swinging clubs? You had a group on the other side that came charging in without a permit and they were very, very violent.”
As you can imagine, people aren't fond of his remarks and find his comments extremely insensitive.
Instead of acknowledging that the alt-right is responsible for what happened in Charlottesville, he added that "there is blame to both sides."
“I think there is blame on both sides. You look at both sides. I think there is blame object on both sides,” Trump continued. "You had some very bad people in that group. You also had some very fine people on both sides."
The purpose of this press conference was so Trump could clean up the mess he left from his previous statement, where he refused to acknowledge the alt-right. But instead, he left an even bigger mess than before...
