Kerry Washington's Pilates Routine

Kerry Washington is a huge fan of pilates, especially for the lower body. This following routine will help tone your lower half and your core. You can get started by doing the following exercises in a circuit, 3 rounds of 15 repetitions.

1. Roll Back

Start by sitting up with a straight back and our knees slightly bent. Place your arms on your knees. Take a deep breath and lean back, keeping your arms straight. Lean back as far as you can and return to the starting position.

2. Lying Leg Raises

Start lying flat on your back. Hingeing from your hips, bring your legs up to a 90° angle. Lower them back down. If that's too hard, start with you thighs in the air, with you calves bent at 90°.

3. Alternating Lying Leg Extensions

Start with your knees bent at 90°. Push one leg forward until it is straight and roughly 45° from the ground. Return to the starting position and repeat with the other leg. That's one repetition.

4. Kneeling Heel Raises

Start on all fours, then raise one leg off the ground and into the air. Do the same on the opposite side. This counts as one repetition.

Jennifer Aniston aims to go slow and steady with her workout. Yoga doesn't seem that hard at first, but holding poses for extended periods of times can get difficult after a while.

Do this move 5 times through. This can work well as a warm. it has A LOT of steps, so follow this diagram to get it down.

2. Temple Pose + Plie Squat

Start with your feet spread wide, a little way past your shoulder. Lower yourself into a squat and hold for 30 seconds. Repeat this 8 times.

3. Boat Pose to V-Up

Lie on your back, then raise your legs and upper back a couple inches off the ground. using your core, pull your body into a V shape. Hold for 30 seconds and then return to the boat pose. Do this 8 times.

4. Push Up + Single Arm Rotation

Do one push-up, then extend your left arm into the air, while slowly turning your body. Hold for 30 seconds, then return to the push-up position. Repeat on your right side. This is one repetition. Repeat 7 more times.
