I've always been a gym rat, but my idea of working out never involved other people.
I'd wake up, go to the gym, interact with no one, and then leave. It wasn't until recently that I experimented with group exercise classes ‚ and it wasn't even on purpose! One day, I was running on the treadmill (minding my own business) and this fit as hell woman came up to me and asked if I thought I was getting a good workout.
When I replied "yes," she told me I was wrong and that to get a good workout, I needed to take her Body Pump class. I thought her presence was aggressive, but at the same time, I appreciated her confidence. I took her group exercise class and it was amazing. Now, I'm all for group exercise classes. They're my go-to.
That said, there are some pretty specific personalities in group exercise classes that I find both annoying and fun. Honestly, there are some specific personalities in gyms in general, but I'll save that for another article.
If you've ever taken a group exercise class, you'll be able to relate to these 10 different personalities you run into EVERY time you take one.
